Latest News: Financial AiD - Tennessee Education Freedom Scholarship Program

The Tennessee Education Freedom Scholarship Program, established in 2025, offers eligible Tennessee students the opportunity to use state funds for educational expenses, including tuition and fees at participating in-state private schools (Categories I, II, or III). For the 2025-26 school year, the scholarship amount is proposed at $7,295.

Initially, 20,000 scholarships will be awarded, with half prioritized for students whose household income does not exceed 300% of the federal free or reduced-price lunch guidelines or who are eligible students as defined in specific Tennessee statutes. The remaining scholarships are available to all eligible Tennessee students, regardless of income.

To be eligible, students must be residents of Tennessee entitled to attend a public school in grades K-12 and be lawfully present in the United States. The application period for the 2025-26 school year opens on May 15, 2025. Families are encouraged to gather necessary documentation, as scholarships will be awarded based on the order of completed applications received.
